Major Alex R. Garn was commissioned in 2001 from West Point as an infantry officer. He began his military service at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii in 2-27 IN Wolfhound Battalion where he led 3rd platoon as light infantry platoon leader. In 2003, he was hired by 1st Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment in Savannah, Georgia as a Ranger Rifle Platoon leader and Executive officer. After the Infantry Captains’ Career Course, he was stationed at Fort Hood, Texas with 1st Brigade, 4th Infantry Division where he served as an assistant operations officer and Mechanized Infantry Company Commander. Major Garn was again selected to serve in the 3rd Ranger Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment as an assistant operations officer and Ranger Company Commander for Bravo Company. Over the course of his 10 year military career he has deployed on four different rotations in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and five rotations in support of Operation Enduring Freedom for a total of nine combat deployments. Major Garn currently is an APMS and Battalion Executive Officer for the Wolverine Battalion.
