Major George Stankow is an Army Reserve Officer from the 4-413th (SROTC), assigned as an instructor to the Wolverine Battalion. He graduated from the University of Southern California in 1994 and served 11 years on active duty as an Adjutant General's Corps officer. He transferred to Civil Affairs after leaving active duty and deployed to Iraq in 2009 with Multinational Division-South. His overseas tours include Korea, Germany, Kosovo, Egypt, and Iraq. After separating from active duty, he spent two years in Baghdad, Iraq, as a civilian contractor with a munitions-response and security firm. He is currently a Master's candidate at University of Michigan's Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy.
