Color Guard

What is color guard?

Color Guard is a distinguished team of Cadets who embody the Wolverine Battalion’s commitment to honor and tradition. They are responsible for the precise and respectful presentation of the national colors and other ceremonial flags at various events, from sporting competitions to formal military functions. Through training and unwavering discipline, Color Guard members master intricate drill movements and flag handling, ensuring a dignified display of patriotism. Their participation elevates the solemnity and significance of each occasion, reinforcing the values of service and dedication that are central to our ROTC program.

Joining the Color Guard offers cadets a unique opportunity to demonstrate their dedication to the program and their country. Members develop exceptional teamwork, precision, and leadership skills while upholding the highest standards of professionalism. Their contributions are vital in representing the ROTC program with pride and respect, fostering a sense of national pride within the community. The Color Guard’s presence at events serves as a powerful reminder of the commitment and sacrifice inherent in military service, inspiring both cadets and the public alike.

Color Guard Events

Cadets who join the Color Guard team are afforded the opportunity to participate in the ceremonies of the following events:

  • Michigan Home Football Games
  • Michigan Home Basketball Games
  • Other Athletic Events (Championships, etc)
  • Commencement
  • National Holidays
  • Military Ceremonies & Events

Cadets of all grade levels are invited to join Color Guard.
