At the University of Michigan, ROTC isn’t just about preparing to lead; it’s about setting the national standard for innovation and collaboration. Our cadets don’t just train within their own branches;, they learn to lead across them. The first-ever Tri-Service Wargame, developed and led entirely by Army, Navy, and Air Force ROTC cadets, offered an unprecedented opportunity to experience joint, multidomain operations in a high-pressure, strategic environment. Through hands-on decision-making, interbranch teamwork, and exposure to real-world challenges like logistics, cyber warfare, and coalition coordination, cadets were pushed to think and lead like tomorrow’s officers, today.
This type of experience, designed by cadets, supported by faculty, and observed by senior military leaders, is only happening here at Michigan. It’s more than a training event. It’s a living example of how Michigan builds leaders who are intellectually agile, operationally ready, and distinct from their peers. That’s the Michigan Difference in ROTC.
