Sergeant First Class (SFC) Christopher W. Shaul is a native of Searcy, Arkansas. He earned his General Educational Development (GED) in May 2006 and subsequently enlisted in the United States Army. He completed One Station Unit Training (OSUT) at Fort Benning, Georgia, as an Infantryman and was assigned to 1st Battalion, 187th Infantry Regiment, Fort Campbell, Kentucky. While assigned to the “Rakkasans,” he deployed twice.
In June 2011, SFC Shaul was assigned to 1st Battalion, 64th Armor Regiment, 3rd Infantry
Division, Fort Stewart, Georgia, as a part of a Combined Arms Battalion.
Following his assignment with 3rd Infantry Division, he was reassigned to 2nd Squadron, 2nd Cavalry Regiment, Vilseck, Germany. During this time, he supported Operation Atlantic Resolve and Operation Allied Spirit, conducting multinational training exercises with NATO partners throughout the Baltic region.
Upon returning to the United States, SFC Shaul was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 187th Infantry Regiment, Fort Campbell, Kentucky, and deploy. Following redeployment, he was selected by his chain of command and division commander to serve as an instructor at the Sabalauski Air Assault School.
After completing his assignment at Fort Campbell, SFC Shaul was assigned to Delta Company, 1st Battalion, 29th Infantry Regiment, Fort Benning, Georgia. There, he served as an instructor for the Stryker Leader Course and was later selected as the Branch Chief and Senior Instructor. Following this assignment, he served as Team Chief for the Army’s Heavy Weapons Leader Course.
In June 2023, SFC Shaul returned to 3rd Battalion, 187th Infantry Regiment (“Iron Battalion”), where he served as a Heavy Weapons Platoon Sergeant and later as the Battalion Operations Sergeant Major. Throughout his career, SFC Shaul has held numerous leadership positions ranging from Rifleman to Operations Sergeant Major. He currently serves as a Military Science Instructor at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
SFC Shaul’s operational deployments include one deployment to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom; three deployments to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom; and multiple rotations to the Baltic region and Eastern Europe in support of Operation Atlantic Resolve, Operation Allied Spirit, and Operation Deterrence, Assurance, and Reinforcement, including service in Poland.
His military education includes the Air Assault School, Basic Leader Course, Advanced Leader Course, Senior Leader Course, Modern Army Combatives Level I and II, Sling Load Inspector Certification Course, Equal Opportunity Leader Course, Stryker Leader Course, Heavy Weapons Leader Course, Rappel Master Course, Special Patrol Infiltration/Exfiltration Systems (SPIES) and Fast Rope Infiltration/Exfiltration Systems (FRIES), Instructor Training and Development Course, Common Faculty Development Instructor Course, Vehicle Crew Evaluator Course, and Combat Lifesaver Course.
SFC Shaul is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Geoscience with a concentration in
Broadcast Operations and Meteorology.

SFC Shaul is married to Emilia Shaul, and they have two children, Aanyah (18) and Aalyiah (11).
